Steal of the Week: Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain

I am a sucker for a good lip stain. Call me lazy, but I want to just put my lip color on once in the morning, maybe again after lunch if I’m feeling especially ambitious.

One day in the fall, I was perusing the Revlon aisle at Target and decided to get one of the Colorburst Balm Stains because they were pretty cheap and claimed to last the whole day. I figured if I hated it, I could always return it.

No need. I’ve found my new obsession. I. Love. These. I’ve picked up five since then. Excellent color payoff and they last for an entire day. Seriously. No reapplying. Not even after lunch. And I love that it’s in a chubby pencil like form, so you can easily line your lips for a precise application.

 A few of my favorites
Top-bottom: Sweetheart (a vibrant pink), Lovesick (a lovely fuschia), Smitten (a bright berry)

A trick I’ve discovered is to apply one coat, blot it down to a matte stain with a tissue, and then apply another coat on top. You’re good to go for the entire day.

I had a coupon for any Revlon product the other day and went on a mission to find a bright, sweet pink. I got the Balm Stain in Sweetheart. I love this. It’s a bright, girly pink that would make even Barbie envious. I tested it out last week and got tons of compliments. And I was most impressed by its long wearing capability.

Bottom line: a great long wearing balm stain that won’t completely dry out your lips. On the cheap!
